No Doom's Day stuff
Submitted by Aunt Judy on Fri, 2008-10-03 19:23
Things are bad, no doubt. But I am optimistic! Tho I am not sure why. I just feel so frustrated because our representatives don't seem to get it; and our 'leaders' have no talent for diplomacy, statesmanship, or any real knowledge of world affairs! How did we get in this mess? Just finished reading Benazir Bhutto's book, Reconciliation......It was very enlightening. Has anyone else read it?

I share your optimism and frustration. What we have is a case of organized crime at the highest levels of government. But I believe it is going down. How about a review of Reconciliation?

I believe in positive thinking, but at what point is it ok to be alarmed? I am not talking about fear, but when do we blow the trumpet. I somehow think that in the American churches today we are just sleeping. It is like we are in disbelief that something bad could happen here. I just look at the world situation and see an urgency of getting close to God. This is the same pattern that preceded all of the great revivals in the Bible. The only problem with a lot of those revivals is that it usually took until the calamity fell upon the people for them to wake up. It just seems to me that there is a great need in a return to God. Anyone else???

I have not read Benazir Bhutto's book. Can you work up a book review for us? :)

Yep. Will do. I just have to sit down and take the time to do it. I will try to do it tomorrow. Almost my bedtime now! LOL
