How to Donate
Submitted by adam on Sat, 2008-12-20 22:36
I just responded to an email from someone asking about how to donate to our project. Just thought I would make this info available to all. Really the best thing to donate here is money. It's cheaper to just buy things here rather than have them shipped. There are a couple of options. You can sponsor a child (http://www.forhiskids.org/sponsorship.php) This is a montly donation and you will get updates etc about your child. You can also make a one time donation online (https://www.forhiskids.org/donation.php) just specify in the description what orphanage you want to donate to (The El Salvador Project or Hogar Escuela Adventista). Also if you are interested in helping with a specific need (new roof, medical bill, new tires for the van etc.) let me know and I can ask what some of the most pressing needs are right now. These kids are definitly worth the investment. They have been dealt a tough hand, but its great to see some of the kids coming back from Univertsity and getting jobs etc. One thing that I know they are needing help with right now is the College fund. It is possible that they will not be able to pay for the kids to go to university after this coming year. This will be devastating for those that have already started thier studies or are looking forward to that in the future. It's a big deal here to get a College education, not something that most are able to do. Presently we have 7 students in college and five more waiting for the start of the next school year. It costs ICC about $600 a month maintain one student in University. They have started a college fund if you are interested in helping out with this. Just indicate it is for the El Salvador College fund on the website above. If you don't want to donate online let me know and I can send you a mailing address. »

What are some of the pressing needs right now? Other than the college funds.
