I have waited too long

I would like to personally condemn the war that Israel is waging against Gaza.  What they are doing is EVIL.  I also condemn the US government for setting the example for evil.  We must resist evil -- including the state.

See here for images of what Israel has really done (and the US media doesn't want you to see).  Thanks to lewrockwell.com for the link.

How about a little condemnation of Hamas?  You don't think they are evil?

Here is an article written about Somalia.  This was from July 2007.

Well, I have no special love for Hamas, but it seems there is plenty of condemnation going around for them.  They aren't as bad as Israel -- at least they aren't killing as many people.

This article shows well how the state is evil.  Thanks for posting.  Insurgents are no different than the state, they just aren't in power yet.

This is a song I have recently discovered that really resonates with me.  The video that someone put with it is pretty fitting.  This is from Derek Webb's new album "The Ringing Bell".

I have downloaded it to my iPod.  There is something about it that is haunting and yet reassuring.  I really like it.  Thanks for sharing it!

Wow.. I'm sorry but I don't get it. I went to Derek Webb's web site to check out the lyrics. What is his point?

Go here for an article about analysis of his song.  I like the music and like a lot of other songs the words can have different meanings to different folks.  But it is basically about evil and that God will make things right eventually.  I just find that the music for me is uplifting; I like songs for lots of reasons and even some songs I don't like the words but love the tune and vice versa.  Listening to some of Dylan's songs is terrible trying to figure out what he means.  Check out his Three Angels.  He writes like a poet but I'll be darned if I can figure out what he is saying sometimes!  LOL  So I stopped a long time ago and just enjoy the music (and the words sometimes) and how it makes me feel.  Well, did not mean to ramble on like this.  I just like it.  And sometimes it kills it if you try to analyze it.  Some things just grab you.  Like an article I saw about atheists putting signs on buses that say:  There probably is no God.  So live your life and be happy.  Or something like that.  Even that has a ring to it...or at least it is good to see people can express their opinion and there is even some comfort in those words whether you believe it or not.   I have been sitting at the computer too long and it is past time to start some dinner.  Trying to find out some information on that beautiful, instrumental by Joan Baez, Windrose.

It is  crucial to underscore that these attacks are partially funded by the American taxpayer, undertaken with U.S. arms provided for this purpose, and enabled by use of the American U.N. veto power to protect Israel in everything it does. God may set things right eventually, but I don't like the fact that my tax dollars are going to murder innocent women and children.

I don't always agree with Webb's lyrics -- especially the first time I listen to them.  He has a knack for catching my attention.  There is a good bit in this song that I didn't think was quite right the first time I heard -- but as I've pondered it (which is probably what the purpose of the song is) I think my position has softened.  We'll see where I end up. :)

I do like the song, but I haven't finished chewing.

If only the US wasn't using my tax dollars to abuse people, perhaps I could justify paying the Mafia; but when my labor is contributing to the death of innocent people by the thousands (if not millions), I can't help but question the morality of continuing to pay taxes.  Of course, if I wish to completely cease financially supporting the state's aggression, I'll have to stop using dollars, which is illegal.
