price or priority?

Salvation is free; but what do I give to hold it?

remember

When does life slow down? Does it need to? I want it to – but when it does, I make it busy again. I keep it busy. Am I trying to hide something – perhaps from myself? It's working – I don't know what it is.

From where comes my incentive to continue doing what I do not want to do. I remind myself of the apostle Paul.

Joe said, “We should seek God's face and not his works. Seeking his works alone is like spiritual pornography.”

I want God, not just what He does.

Strasburg hymn sing/concert

On Sabbath, May 20, No Less Days hosted a hymn sing/concert at the Strasburg, VA Seventh-day Adeventist church as part of the City of Strasburg's annual Mayfest. All went well and we had a lot of fun, though only a few people showed up off the streets. Those that attended can add more details.

89°

The last few days have been very warm.

I went to work Monday morning, but decided to work from home in the afternoon since most everyone was gone for memorial day. I'm not sure that was a practical decision. My car was at least 120° inside when I pulled out, and it didn't seem much cooler by time I got home. (I don't have air conditioning in my car.)

Studio Repaired Again

A damaged power supply in Paulington Studio's audio workstation rendered the studio useless until a replacement power supply was installed.

Not long after Paulington Studio's recent equipment upgrade, lighting damaged the power supply for the workstation.  This was discovered Sabbath, May 13,  when Adam took a friend out to the studio for some "recreational" recording.  When he discovered that the computer didn't work, he called me to come take a look at it.  We ended up pulling the power supply apart to discover several fried components.  The components had become so hot that a hole was burned completely through the circuit board.

Recent Poll Results

A recent poll requested feedback on what areas of improvement NoLessDays.org would benefit from most. A number of you voted and provided useful feedback... then there were the strawberries. You'd have to read the comments on the poll to to see how it had anything to do with strawberries. I would be interested to know if anyone did actually go picking. Anyhow, for the analysis...

Song Sheet for Mayfest 2006 Hymn Sing

Attached is a song sheet in pdf format.

big rocks

Timothy is working for me.  I have him moving rocks out of my yard.  He carries them across the driveway, through the mud, over the creek, and throws them in a big rock pile in the woods.  Today he built a bridge over the creek so the wheelbarrow could make it to the other side.

I have a room of half-way finished drywall waiting for me, but when I came home this evening I headed outside with my new pick/mattock and shovel.  Some of the rocks were just too big for Timothy to move alone.

The funny part is how small the rocks look.  It looks like a rock the size of a football sticking up just enough to catch with a lawn mower. Feeling it out with the pick, it becomes clear that the rock is bigger.

Four Weeks for NoLessDays.org

Today, NoLessDays.org is four weeks old -- just an infant. To date, we have 19 users and 83 contributions. This may not seem like much, but consider: more users means more content, more content means more attraction, more attraction means more users... It is a snowball affect that we can expect to see because our community is growing exponentially.

Initial growth rates may be greater than long term growth rates, so let's assume a linear increase in our user base; eventually, even a slow exponential growth will reach the linear projection. So where will we be at the end of one year? The numbers say we'll have 247 users and 6474 posts!

To maximize the value of NoLessDays.org, where should improvement efforts first be focused?
