Mishaps in Spain no. 19

Hello again. I am typing this latest blog on Brett's computer because my computer doesn't have internet right now. I'm not sure why. Well I have only about two week left of school for this quarter. Kind of scary. I hate this time of year. Al the finals and all. Now I got it three time insteadof just twice.
Tonight a bunch of English kids arrived here from London to learn Spanish for a week. They all are from a Stanborough school in London. They talk so funny. It's so cool.
Things have been very strained here recently. Actually they are just starting to get better. The place was pretty miserable to live in for a while. There have been robberies left and right. Brett got 155 euros stolen from him and his brand new cell phone. I offered to help him try and figure out who had done it, so we brushed his wallet and his cards. We found a fading finger print, so we asked the kid who he suspected of doing it if we could have his fingerprints. He complied, so we got them. The print we got was to light to dtermine anything, so that was a dead end. That night though really late. Brett decided to take things into his own hands, because the dean wasn't doing much, so he kind of roughed the kid up a bit and demanded the money back. The next day the kid told Paco Pepe (our dean) and about the fingerprints. I found out about this a few days ago when Paco told me that getting fingerprints from a minor was a high crime in Spain, punishable by jailtime and up to 3000 euro fine. He tried to make it sound like we had forced him to get the fingerprints too. I was completely incredulous. Fortunately things seem to be getting be getting better. Several of us wrote emails to the head of ACA. They emailed the head of ESDES and there were several meetings held. One of which, I had the opportunity to be the translator. It look slike things are finally on the mend. Praise God.
I'm going back to Zaragoza next week to play with the orchestra in several concerts. I'm kind of excited about it, because I know this really good kebab place there. Pretty cheap too. I don't know if you know if you know what a doner kebab is, but look it up on google, cause I don't want to try to explain.
Other than that, not a whole lot has happened. Oh I forgot. Brian, a friend from Southern visited yesterday. He left today though. He is going to our school in Italy. He actually flew over for his ex-girlfriend's birthday. That was fun. I even learned a little Italian. It is so amazing. I could like understand almost everythin that he said. It is so similar to Spanish. Did you know that every word in Italian ends in a vowel? Well, except for words that they borrow from different languages. I'm looking forward to everyone coming over here.

Hey, it is wonderful how this is all working out. I've been concerned and praying for you. Sabbath particularly I felt burdened to pray for you and actually did, most the day pray for you and others, as I was too weak (exhaustion I think) to make it to church. I kept checking on yahoo messenger throughout the day hoping you'd be on and let me know the latest, and was glad to finally get word that things were working out.

Now the big question is: Did you get your money back yet as promised?
We're all looking forward to coming as well!!

BTW - I think it says something about your level of facility with the Spanish language that you were chosen to translate - and in a conflict situation, to boot. That is one of the more challenging situations language wise - conflict. Keep up the good work.
