Mishaps in Spain no. 22
Submitted by tgeorge on Fri, 2007-03-30 15:31
Well, I have decided to completely stop talking English. Even if some people don´t completely understand me, well, that´s thier problem. Thas is why it seems a little wierd to me actually writing this blog in English. One reason that I become so adamant on never speaking English is because I decided to take the Superior DELE exam. For those of you who know what it is, well...you know what it is. For those of you who don´t, well, it is an exam for the highest level of Spanish, which is realmente bilingüe, and the only officially internationally regonized diploma of Spanish. Needless to say, it is extremely difficult, especially for someone who doesn´t speak Spanish as well as they speak their mother tongue, such as me. Anyway, I don´t know what came over me to inspire me to try for at, but I am, and there is no going back now. So I am going to study hard, and I really hope that I pass. Some of you may know that I was planning on going to England next week during Semana Santa. Well, it looks like I´ll have to do that another time. It turns out that I have to go with the orchestra to Madrid to Play several concerts. I really enjoy doing that though too, so I´m not complaining. We are actually going to be staying in a hotel in Toledo the whole time, and just making day trips into Madrid. Kind of far commute, but I don´t mind getting to see Toledo again. I have been learning on the cello several new pieces, and generally I am happy on how I am doing on the cello. I wish I had more time to practice, but I do still get about an hour everyday. The latest piece that I just finished actually happens to be quite short. It´s called ¨The Swan¨ from the Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Säens. It is really pretty though and I really enjoy it, so listen to it if you get the chance. I´ve actually been doing mostly Saint-Säens pieces recently. He was a prolific composer if I may say so myself. Pues. I got to go to Carrefour today. I bought three pizzas, because they were on sale. Buy two and get one free. They´re actually not that good, but they were cheap. Someone just told me though a very wise saying the other day. They said, life isn´t about always getting the best deals. I though to myself, ¨Wow, that is very true. Great deals are nice, but that´s not what we live life for. If someone rips you off every now and then, sell just be happy that you´re not him who will get richer with your money, but will have to live the rest of his life knowing that he ripped you off so that he could get more money.¨ How profound. Hey does anybody actually read this blog? I´m just wondering, because I just realized that I think I´m pretty much the only one who blogs on here regularly. I looked over at recent content and realized that the latest four topics are all from me. Well, just curious. I ate some candy today. The first I´ve had since my bout with strep throat. I am now faithfully eating a penicillin capsule every six hours. One last thing, I was thinking of changing my profile picture to the picture below. What do you people think. Should I change it or not?

Man! Spain messed you up! What happened to your face? It's all black and white? Also, check your read count. Folks are enjoying your posts. More pictured of your trips and such would be cool. I find a good size for posting images is 320x240 pixels. I don't know what image software you're using, but if you could resize the biggest dimension to 320, you'd probably be fine... Actually, you could probably get by with bigger pictures, but the smaller ones will look better on small screens.
Keep blogging man! We're working on our next single, so soon you'll have some content coming from state side. The song we're working on is "Raising Cain." You remember that from several months ago? I sang it to you over IM. We've got a bunch of us working on it, so hopefully it'll turn out nice.
Hey, what would you think of this for an avatar? It's a closeup of the mandolin I refinished.
tgeorge says:
Thanks Chip, well I think that the mandolin is cool, but I kind of like the avatar that you have now. Like someone just took an accidnetal picture of you when you weren´t paying attention. But hey, don´t let me stop you.
So do you think I should change mine to this ¨freaky¨one or not?

Cool new avatar option; I vote for a change.

You may be the only one blogging, but at least you are doing it and it keeps us posted on what you are doing. We definitely enjoy it and read it! I'm always disappointed to log on and not find a new blog from you.
