Christopher GeorgeLocation: New Market, VA, USAI am a dabbling singer/songwriter. I play guitar, piano, mandolin, and upright bass. Though I enjoy fairly limited influence from the very wide world of genres and talent, I am enjoying the process of reducing this limitation. I also enjoy working in the studio, recording and encouraging the artistic ventures of other artists. |

I was especally disappointed in Jim Webbs vote. His yea vote certainly doesn't exemplify the qualities he totes so eloquently in his book Born Fighting: A History of the Scots-Irish in America.

The Senate’s bill is far more bloated than the one the House rejected on Monday. So why did so many congressional Republicans switch sides?
Aunt Judy says:
It's all about the pork! Something needs to be done to keep the congress from passing bills with these totally unrelated addendums. A bill is a bill is a bill. How do we go about affecting change in that area? Write our congressmen? These 'ear marks' are a totally ridiculous way of getting a bill through; what a travesty! Probably if you look at it something was added that Jim Webb wanted. I have not examined the bill. You should write to Jim Webb, rww.

I wrote Webb and Warner. I begged them not to vote for the bail out and then informed them that I would do all in my power to get them out of the senate when they defied the will of the people and voted for it.
I don't know much about Rep. Goodlatte (I happen to be in his district) but he voted both times against the bail out. Though I need to learn more about this man, I was very pleased that he did the right thing. I wrote him numerous times before, and praised him via a phone call afterword.
I think writing, faxing, calling these folks has an impact, but I think constituency and money speak the loudest. It is our task as the people, to hold congress responsible. Here's an interesting idea that I think has some real merit: VoterBomb.
