Reading this article is enough to convince me that the main-stream take on HIV and AIDS must have some political motivation and not be completely accurate. I am particularly “impressed” with the blatant irresponsibility of Dr. Charlie van der Horst. Among his bogus statements is this:
"There's no question that HIV causes AIDS. There's absolutely not a single credible scientist who would disagree."
He's essentially saying, "everyone that disagrees with me lacks credibility, hence there is no question that HIV causes AIDS."
Well, Dr. Charlie, if you and your cronies have HIV and AIDS all figured out, why is it still a problem? Apparently your explanation and solution is not satisfactory, or should we assume that all who disagree with you have nothing but ill will towards humanity. Are you confident enough in your understanding of AIDS to infect yourself and then treat yourself? If not, then there is room for more work.
In the absence of political motivation, I would expect you to be very interested in the work of those who differ from the mainstream view. Why not study their findings and evidence, and together learn more about the problem and how to solve it. If you really disagree with their work, why not make a rational argument showing why they are wrong? Maybe you have done this, but your public attitude, Dr. Charlie, stinks – it is the bigger problem, and is well suited only to bolstering ignorant support of your own position.
