Dealing with Neighbor's Death
Submitted by Aunt Judy on Fri, 2008-10-17 17:27Our neighbor, Jack, is dying of lung cancer. We went to visit him today and take some food. That is one of the hardest things to do. What do you say? It would seem that if you were dying then trivial conversation would drive you crazy. But yet it gives a bit of normalcy to what is going on. This man has been retired for several years and has taken cruis

The new is older than the old
Submitted by christopher on Thu, 2008-10-16 08:08I've always wondered as to the the purpose of placing the Israelites under the law, when God knew full well that they could never receive salvation by it. Why the old covenenant and then the new covenant? This morning I understood Galatians 3: righteousness through faith predates the law. Paul declares that the law cannot ammend that covenant: righteousness by faith.

please pray
Submitted by somertyme on Mon, 2008-10-13 18:57I am asking for special prayer for Rachel tonight. She is in a really rough spot right now and needs to make some hard decisions. Pray for her deliverance, her safety, and that she will have the strength to do what she needs to do. I believe right now is a crucial time in her life, and she desperately needs a miracle.

A Pleasant Suprise
Submitted by adam on Sat, 2008-10-11 12:13Well, it's Sabbath morning and I'm not at church. I had another flair up yesterday of my Crohn's, not a real bad one, but enough to make me take off work in the afternoon. I decided to use this weekend to do a juice fast. I have read that a lot of people have had success with juice or fruit fasting to clease the bowel. So I am just going to take it easy this

Surprise, surprise
Submitted by christopher on Mon, 2008-10-06 08:28What a surprise (not really) to pull up CNN and ABC news this morning, only to find headlines about how the bailout hasn't worked, and market values are still falling. When will folks join their saying that "Ron Paul has been right all along," with taking his advice.

No Doom's Day stuff
Submitted by Aunt Judy on Fri, 2008-10-03 19:23Things are bad, no doubt. But I am optimistic! Tho I am not sure why.
I just feel so frustrated because our representatives don't seem to get it; and our 'leaders' have no talent for diplomacy, statesmanship, or any real knowledge of world affairs! How did we get in this mess?

buy beans
Submitted by christopher on Fri, 2008-10-03 13:50Well, the bailout passed. Things may get better for the next week or two, then it's going down -- a long ways. I think I'll go buy another bag of kidney beans.
P.S. I'm pleased to announce that my house representative voted against the bailout both times. Can't say the same for my sold-out senators.
