Overdue. . .
Submitted by willowblythe on Tue, 2008-07-08 10:35This blog entry is coming embarrassingly after the fact. But I wanted to tell, just briefly, of the miracle that God performed to get Raquel back to the Hogar. Thinking about it makes me smile with wonder.

Trampling the constitution (again)
Submitted by rww on Sat, 2008-06-28 09:24Since I refrain from watching much TV, especially the talking heads variety, my only exposure to Keith Olbermann comes via the net. I find him to be entertaining and often I agree with him.

a second joy of motherhood
Submitted by shanatoly on Thu, 2008-06-26 11:05For the last couple of weeks, Sarah has been spending the first half of her nap in bed and the second half of her nap (after crawling to find me) in my arms. Sometimes I read while she is sleeping, sometimes I'm on the internet, but many times I just sit back in the chair, feel her warmth and delight in the opportunity to have this close moment with her.

Just say "no" to government sponsored charity?
Submitted by christopher on Fri, 2008-06-06 09:35Claim
- Government involvement in charity breeds apathy in Jesus' followers.
Premises
- Charity is a cornerstone of following Jesus; and it is clear that charity is a key evidence why Jesus' way is better than the world's; but more importantly, charity is a key ingredient to spiritual growth. Hence, "it is more blessed to give, than to receive."

In America, try questioning
Submitted by christopher on Thu, 2008-06-05 08:07Premises
- Any position of authority is an opportunity for abuse/corruption.
- Elected positions are particularly vulnerable because the electorate tends to believe that it is in control.
- An environment that discourages questioning leadership is a likely host to abusive/corrupted leadership.
